The Mary Queen of Heaven stained glass window in St. Anthony Church in Wichita, Kansas is dedicated to an ancestor, Johann Walterscheid. The recreation of this window in watercolor became a fascinating project for me, leading to a commission from the church to paint all seven of the large windows in the church. The transparency of watercolor paint enabled me to translate the beautiful church art from glass masterpieces to luminous detailed paintings. I have also recreated The Baptism of Christ window from St. James Episcopal Church.
